Description

Hi all,

Currently our Kannel GW connected to operator USSD GW via SMPP connection and when we reply subscribers USSD request with unicode message, operator side need us using DCS value 0x48.
According to GSM 03.38 V7.0.0 Alphabets and language-specific information, Unicode USSD Message should encoded with Data Coding Scheme (DCS) value of 0x48

Is it possible to realize this DCS value 0x48 for unicode message in SMPP connection with service-type=USSD?

I tried to do this through modification of coding, mwi, mclass, compress and alt-dcs parameters in in various ways, but without any success.

I think that it should move to Feature tracker.

Hi,

0x48 means that bit 3 & 6 are set and this is not allowed in SMPP spec.

Hi again,

the problem is that you are mixing DCS with a data_coding in SMPP. Do you need DCS or data_coding to be 0x48 ?
data_coding in SMPP is not allowed to be 0x48, see SMPP spec. Different case that if you need DCS=0x48 this should
then data_coding with bits 7-4 set ( data_coding = 0xF8).

Thanks,
Alex
